Latest Transport Stream Software at NAB2017

Canberra, Australia – 30 March, 2017 – Mediaware, a leading provider of digital television technologies enabling rapid deployment of playout channels and regionalisation, today announced its plans for NABSHOW 2017.

Mediaware will be bringing its full suite of frame accurate transport stream processing software for interactive demonstration at NABSHOW 2017 including InStream Splice and Matrix.

Visit our booth in South Hall Upper, Booth #6607 to interactively explore three deployment scenarios:

HEVC Ultra HD Splicing

The impending commercial launch of Ultra HD (UHD) TV services using HEVC offer platform owners a not-to-be-missed opportunity to transform their broadcast facility and reduce hardware and operating costs. Mediaware will demonstrate how frame accurate MPEG splicing for linear broadcast Ultra HD HEVC has a pivotal role to play in achieving compelling content localisation, advertising and playout.

MPEG splicing for Satellite DTH and Linear OTT

Across the spectrum of television delivery, operators are struggling with the costs and complexity of achieving localisation and blackout for linear OTT internet delivered television services.

It is accepted within the broadcast industry that MPEG splicing is the most efficient means of deploying scalable content replacement and regionalised advertising insertion in transport stream broadcast environments. However, operators are still grappling with how best to manage the complexity of splicing within the tight constraints of a multi-channel statistical multiplex.

At NABSHOW 2017, Mediaware will demonstrate how a handful of equipment can deliver multi-channel, scalable splicing within the constraints of a statistical multiplex. While equally relevant for DTV and Cable deployments, our interactive demonstration will focus on Satellite DTH and highlight how simple it is to add a content replacement system to differentiate and OTT content using InStream Splice.

High-Density Audio Loudness Control and Time Delay

With the ever increasing number of regular and turn-around channels, operators are constantly approaching Mediaware on how they can utilise compressed domain processing to overcome increasing linear cost blowout. At NABSHOW 2017, Mediaware will demonstrate its unique approach to modular processing using the Mediaware Technology Matrix. Our Matrix demonstration will showcase high-density audio loudness control* while handling multiple transport stream time delay for time zone adjustment – all in the one software appliance.
